AmREIT proposes retail redevelopment project in Houston

AmREIT is considering more development and investment in the Houston market, following a $1 billion redevelopment of the 17-acre Uptown Park retail complex. The REIT wants to redevelop a site that now contains a Verizon Wireless store. The project reportedly could include a multifamily complex or hotel.
