Atlanta plans rail extension, bus rapid transit with sales tax revenue

Atlanta voters approved a sales tax increase in 2016, and transit officials are planning to use the extra revenue for 18 miles of bus rapid transit and 21 miles of light rail. The work also would include the construction of transit centers and renovation of existing stations, but some transportation advocates think the city should do more.
