Buckingham Co.s begins work on Midtown mixed-use development in Nashville

Buckingham Companies will begin construction of a two acre site at the intersection of 21st Avenue South, Broadway and Division streets, adjacent to the Vanderbilt University campus. Site preparation will make way for vertical construction, to start later this year, of a 17-story, 600,000-square-foot, mixed-use development that will include 350 apartments, a 180-room full-service hotel and 35,000 square feet of ground level retail space. It will bring 630 parking spaces and, through the hotel, approximately 6,500 square feet of meeting space to the area. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will operate the full-service hotel. Buckingham Midtown is intended to be LEED certified upon completion. It various components will open in phases with the completion estimated to be early 2017
