Businessman-turned-restaurateur Joe Funkey opened his first Chicago-style pizza place, Giuseppe’s, in California after the 2008 recession. Although Funkey had no experience in the industry, he was able to turn his business into a success with the help of family, and by traveling to Chicago for a crash course in restaurant management.
