CBRE: Chicago retail vacancies fall to 8.9%

Real estate firm CBRE‘s recent report indicates that Chicago’s retail vacancy rate is 8.9%, the lowest the city has seen since 2013. Rents have reached $18.75 per square foot, an increase of $1.12 over the previous year. The growth is led by a surge in furniture retailers and fast casual restaurants.
