ECORE International partnered with The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) to build the Union Rescue Mission “URM” Learning Center in downtown Los Angeles. This service event, held early this summer, came after a $100,000 grant from LADF and Dodger outfielder Andre Ethier was given to complete the Learning Center, which will be renamed the Andre and Maggie Ethier Learning Center. LADF was joined at the event by nearly 50 volunteers from various Dodger departments, Dodger RBI players and Habitat for Humanity of Greater LA, including President and CEO Erin Rank. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) worked with LADF on the initial design of the learning center to help create a functional space for URM residents. The lead designer and contractor on this project was Ecovations. Additional contributors include Sherwin-Williams, Design Materials, Pasadena Calif., ECORE Commercial Flooring, Lancaster, Pa., The MS Rouse Company, Morrow-Meadows Corp., O’Bryant Electric Inc. and Siemons Cabling.
