FED CON: Illinois Tollway to start $1.6B worth of construction

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner issued an order to the state’s agencies saying they could not award any contracts unless his administration gave the OK. That halted some of Move Illinois, a $12.1 billion project to rebuild and widen roadways. However, Rauner has told the Illinois Tollway to go ahead with $1.6 billion in work this year. Much of that will go to the rebuild of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway. Read the Chicago Tribune story here
