Florida set to build $1.4B reservoir to protect Everglades

A $1.4 billion plan to capture runoff from Florida’s Lake Okeechobee is headed to Washington, D.C., for approval after the South Florida Water Management District signed off on it with the support of some environmental groups and farmers. A 23-foot deep, 10,500-acre reservoir will be used to feed and protect the Everglades. Read the Miami Herald story here
