Hotel, people mover among plans for Charlotte, N.C., airport

Long-term plans presented by Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina call for a full-service hotel to be built on the site of the current control tower, along with an automated people mover that would feed into a potential light-rail line. The hotel would be built when the Federal Aviation Administration moves to a new control tower in 2020, and the people mover would connect the airport’s parking deck to nearby Wilkinson Boulevard.
