La. city council may create taxes to help fund 3 new hotels

The Kenner City Council in Louisiana is planning new taxes to help pay for the construction of three hotels near Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The taxes could bring in revenue of $185,000 annually. A Courtyard by Marriott and a Hyatt Place are planned for a 5-acre economic development district the council intends to create, and a Holiday Inn is already under construction.
