Legal Sea Foods branches out with standalone concepts

Legal Sea Foods has built a chain of identical eateries during the past five decades, but now the company is swimming into new waters with new concepts that break away from the mold. The new Legal Crossing at Millennium Place reflects the gritty past of its Boston neighborhood. Legal Crossing, which opens this week, was created to fit in with its upscale downtown neighbors, and Legal Oysteria in Charlestown will be a cozy Italian seafood concept.
