N.Y. hotels add thousands of rooms to meet demand surge

New York City hotels have added more than 30,000 rooms in the past seven years to accommodating the surging demand from travelers. The pace of construction is on track to reach 110,000 rooms by 2016, observers say. To note, occupancy is robust and is as high as the low 90 percents in the Times Square area.
