Tryko Partners and Marquis Health Services marked the recent completion of a million-dollar renovation at Westgate Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center with a celebratory open house. More than 100 community health partners and professionals attended the event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the 120-bed skilled nursing facility at 10 North Rock Glen Road in Baltimore.
Tryko Partners, a New Jersey-based private equity investment group, purchased Westgate Hills in mid-2014. Marquis Health Services, its healthcare affiliate and a third-generation skilled nursing operator, assumed administration and management in early 2015.
Marquis Health Services geared the building renovations, along with service and program enhancements, to refocus Westgate Hills toward short-term, subacute patient care. An expanded, 1,500-square-foot rehabilitation therapy gym is among the highlights. The project also revamped family gathering areas, incorporated a fine dining program, and updated finishes throughout the building.
Marquis Health Services’ distinctive approach also includes providing care customized to individual needs, and working with local healthcare communities to develop programs that expand options for regional residents. To that end, a new cardiac program has been introduced as part of the Westgate Hills repositioning.
Marquis Health Services currently operates 16 skilled nursing facilities totaling approximately 2,000 beds, and is recognized as a leading provider for long-term care and rehabilitation services in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. Tryko Partners has deep roots in the Maryland market; the firm owns and manages several multifamily properties in Baltimore and its suburbs. The company also maintains a corporate office in the city.
