Virgin Hotels has joined the hotel boom in Palm Springs, Calif., with plans to build the first of its lifestyle properties in the West. Virgin Hotels Palm Springs is scheduled to open downtown in 2018 with 150 rooms and its Commons Club gathering space. Virgin Hotels Chicago currently is the group’s sole namesake property, but hotels in Dallas, New York City and Nashville, Tenn., are on tap. Read the Los Angeles Times story here
