Retrofits planned for 7 L.A. schools to help them withstand earthquakes

Seismic retrofits or complete replacements are being considered for at least seven school buildings in Los Angeles after a report revealed the type of concrete construction used could make them vulnerable in the event of an earthquake. The report, published by University of California, Berkeley’s Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center, identified more than 1,400 at-risk buildings. Read the KNBC-TV story here
