Springfield, Mass., casino proposal gets redesign to better fit downtown

MGM has unveiled new plans for its $800 million casino resort in Springfield, Mass. MGM says the plans, which will be reviewed by the city council and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, will be in line with the image of the historical downtown. MGM removed a 25-story hotel from the design, but it retained and relocated the planned 250-room, six-story hotel. Read The Modesto Bee/The Associated Press story here
