Construction of a water park resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., started recently, and operator Great Wolf Resorts said it now expects the property to open in November. Great Wolf has allocated $90 million to complete the purchase and development of the former Renaissance Hotel, which was abandoned in October 2009. The complex will include a 65,000-square-foot indoor water park, a 311-room hotel, mini-bowling alley, mini-golf course, rope-climbing area, arcade, spa, meeting space and dining outlets.
