Fellowes Highlights Indoor Air Quality Solution for Asthma, Allergies.

Fellowes, a global leader and trusted partner that provides product solutions to fulfill a broad range of WorkLife needs, is proud to highlight the Fellowes® Array™ Air Quality management system, the state-of-the-art solution designed to ensure superior protection against asthma and allergies in the workplace. Poor indoor air quality (IAQ) affects employees, customers and guests, especially those more vulnerable to allergens and asthma triggers, in corporate spaces.

Ventilation is essential work for HVAC systems, but ventilation without adequate filtration can be counterproductive when outdoor air quality is poor due to seasonal allergens. Bringing allergens inside and spreading them throughout an HVAC system can be detrimental to occupants, with the CDC finding that 25.7% of U.S. adults are negatively impacted by airborne seasonal allergies.

[1] Making matters worse, a 2023 report in Climate Central found that current “weather and climate trends are worsening allergy season and the associated health risks.” With the same study predicting an earlier start to allergy season, a longer allergy season, and even a more intense allergy season sparked by increased CO2 levels, cleaning indoor air of allergens has never been more critical.[2] To combat this growing issue, the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology recommends proper air filtration with HEPA filters to remove allergens like pollen from enclosed spaces.

Fellowes’ innovative Array system, equipped with a unique and powerful fan design, works alongside HVAC to help spaces achieve additional equivalent air exchanges per hour (eACH). At the heart of the system is the H13 True HEPA filtration technology, which removes 99.95% of airborne particles as small as 0.1 microns. This includes dangerous contaminants such as PM2.5, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring powerful protection against particles often too small to see but perilous to health.

Additionally, the CDC found more than 300 substances in the workplace that can cause or worsen asthma, making workplace air quality a real concern for asthmatic and vulnerable employees.[3] To see the quality of a workplace’s air, Fellowes offers comprehensive assessments, including a complimentary IAQ assessment. Once the assessment is complete, Fellowes provides customers with IAQ data along with recommendations for possible remediation improvements including its Array system.

Array incorporates advanced sensors and a networked connection to offer real-time monitoring and inter-unit communication, enabling comprehensive insights into air quality changes throughout a building. This enables purifiers to operate at maximum efficiency, adjusting proactively to changes in occupancy density and environmental conditions thanks to the EnviroSmart+™ Technology. This innovation not only provides a proactive response to deteriorating air quality but also cleans air faster than stand-alone units, minimizing the time allergens have to affect community members.

The Array system also features the cloud-based dashboard, Viewpoint, which allows for real-time management of indoor air quality. Viewpoint integrates data from Array’s air purifiers, UV-C sterilization machines and indoor air quality sensors to provide complete visibility of the space’s air quality. Viewpoint allows decision makers to take control by scheduling maintenance needs, tracking air quality over time, and seeing how energy usage is correlated. Additionally, the Viewpoint Community Dashboard can be shared with occupants to present high-level summary of the quality of their air and promotes an organization’s commitment to ensuring safe air.

The Array system’s design is perfect for retrofitting in existing buildings as it does not require any ductwork connections. Its scalability means additional units can be added as needs change, seamlessly integrating into any decor and blending with the aesthetic of the space.

By investing in the Fellowes Array system, businesses not only safeguard the health and well-being of their employees, customers, and guests from harmful allergens and asthma triggers, but also contribute to creating environments that promote productivity and overall wellness.
