D.C. Council approves $300M soccer stadium deal

Major League Soccer‘s D.C. United is building a $300 million, 20,000-seat stadium in the nation’s capital after the D.C. Council approved a financing package. The District will purchase the land and provide site preparation worth a total of $150 million. The stadium, which should open in 2017, will be the most expensive in MLS.
