Gilbane Building is the general contractor for $450 million Northwest Mutual Tower and Commons in Milwaukee. Construction started in 2014 and should be completed in 2017. It will employ 1,000 construction workers. The company has utilized local small businesses in the construction, including the record 10,000-cubic-yard concrete placement for the foundation.
