Convention center, 2 hotels may rise in Belleville, Ill.

A developer is seeking economic incentives to pursue a development at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill., with space that includes two hotels, four restaurants and a convention center. Decisions by the Belleville City Council and the state to allow the Shrine’s annexation and the creation of an enterprise zone for the project are expected to be made next year.
