Houston’s shopping center demand on the rise

Houston’s retail space demand grew by 1.2 million square feet in the second quarter of 2015, and retail rents rose 1.6% in the quarter and 3% year-over-year, making the area among the country’s strongest retail markets, JLL‘s U.S. “Retail Outlook” report found. Chicago and Dallas also absorbed more than 1 million net square feet, while Hawaii and several cities in Florida saw significant demand as well. Read the Houston Chronicle story here
