Los Angeles eyes new hotel near convention center

City officials in Los Angeles want to construct a 1,000-room hotel on property it owns that will connect to the convention center. In an effort to attract an NFL team to the city, Anschutz Entertainment has been approached to build a 72,000-seat stadium, with portions of its proceeds going to the convention center — a deal with the city that expires in eight months.
