New mix of retailers revives upscale uptown NYC district

A section of New York City’s Madison Avenue suffered during the downturn as established upscale retailers moved out. Flash forward to 2012, and more than 50 luxury merchants have taken their place, creating a mix of European names and U.S. brands including Alice + Olivia, Theory and Rag & Bone that are attracting a younger crowd to the area.
